I am getting this warning: Warning: file_get_contents(): URL file-access is disabled

Answer:

If you got this warning, your PHP settings need to be adjusted.

Logaholic uses php's file_get_contents function which requires "fopen wrappers" to be turned on in the PHP.ini file on your server.

Logaholic uses URL access to create your site overlay in Visual Mode, and to check your trial status.

If you can, edit your PHP.ini file (usually located in /etc/php.ini) and make sure this line is in it:

allow_url_fopen = On

More information on this can be found on the PHP website:

http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.filesystem.php#ini.allow-url-fopen

If you can't edit php.ini, you can try this:

Create a file called ".htaccess" in your Logaholic directory with the following line:

php_value allow_url_fopen on

If you already have an .htaccess file there, then add this line. Otherwise it will be the only text in that file. Once you've done that, the problem should be gone.

NOTE: The file you need to create is called .htaccess (it starts with a dot).

The information on this page relates to older Logaholic versions (prior to Logaholic 6) and may be outdated.
