Setup

Important

There is a small difference in setting up the logaholic live service on a dynamic website.
If your website is created in a content management system such as :

  • Joomla
  • Drupal
  • Other content management systems

Please follow the customized setup beneath the main setup, users with a static html website can continue with the main setup.

Main Setup

Start with accessing your website through  a ftp client,
Many Ftp clients are available (for free) on the internet below you will find the most popular:

FileZilla
CoreFTP
SmartFTP

Insert the ftp login information provided by your hosting server to access the ftp server of your website and start an ftp connection with your website.

Once connected you will find a number of files and folders.
Access the folder where your html files are stored.

Insert Java tracker code

If you would like to have your whole website analyzed it's best to insert the java tracker code in a component that is displayed on every page of your website, this is usually the header or the footer.

Copy the html file of that component to your computer and open it with your text editor (like wordpad or notebook).

The line of text which you will be looking for in this html file will be "body".

Now insert (paste) the code you copied in Step 3 of this manual (screenshot 3) directly (no spaces) after the "body":

It might take 10 - 15 minutes before you can view your website's statistics on your logaholic live account.

Customized Installation

If your website is made in a content management system ( Joomla, Drupal, mambeo etc ..) the installation process requires different actions.

Log in to the administrator account of your website, for example: www.mywebsite.com/administrator

Once you're logged in you have to go to the location within your content management system where you can edit your html sheet.

In some cases this can be done in the template manager of your content management system, but it could have it's own unique location.

Once you have opened your html sheet the line of text you will be looking for will be " ".

Now insert (paste) the code you copied in Step 3 of this manual (screenshot 3) directly (no spaces) after the "body":
