500 Internal Server Error - 404 Not found

I just uploaded logaholic into the root of my wordpress site. I named it databytestracker. So when I log into my site, I see the following: 1. wp_content 2. wp_admin 3. wp_includes 4. databytestracker So, I would assume I would have to type in the url to the install script, which i did. Then I get a 500 Internal Server Error - Additonally a 404 Not found. What is going on here? I have a php.ini file in the root also. I looked into my info.php and saw the different settings. What settings should I be looking for inside the php information page? I also set permissions to 777 for the databytestracker folder, and within it I also set 777 for all the folders and even the install.php. Should I include a code in .htaccess?

Answer:

Hi, It's generally not a good idea to add another application inside the wordpress application folder. The reason you are getting a 404 is probably because of the rules in .htaccess, which try to match pretty urls with pages in wordpress. You can exclude certain urls from being rewritten, as explained here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2322559/htaccess-wordpress-exclude-folder-from-rewriterule However, a better approach in this case is to use the logaholic wordpress plugin, which you can download here: http://www.logaholic.com/logadl/wp-logaholic.zip Follow the "Logaholic Self Hosted Edition plugin for Wordpress" instuctions on this page: http://www.logaholic.com/manual/installation/wordpress/ I hope this helps!
Thanks for replying. I am trying to install logaholic she version. I renamed my htaccess file to .htaccess.bak so its not the local .htaccess causing the error 500. Perhaps its the global .htaccess or httpd file?
