The Easy Way To Split Test Web Pages (Part 1)

A/B Split Testing content on your website is a great idea. But implementing it is often tedious, hard work.

No so with Logaholic Web Analytics. The new “Test Center” in Logaholic 2.0 makes running a split test as easy as it can be.

To show you the concept, I’ve created a typical example situation in which you can use split testing to great effect, with ‘minimal’ effort.

If you use Google Adwords, you might know it’s always a good idea to send the people who click on your ads to a specially designed ‘Landing Page’. This page should reinforce whatever the message in your ad is. If the content on the landing page closely matches what the visitor was searching for, you have a better chance of getting something out of that click.

Next, you want to split test various versions of the page in order to maximize the effect of your advertsing by measuring the conversion rate of your landing pages (read : sell more).

So, I’ve actually started advertising on the keyword “landing page”, I figured people searching for that might be interested in the testing features of Logaholic. I also created a landing page for my keyword “landing page” - I’m not trying to be confusing, sorry ;-)

You can find the page here:
http://www.logaholic.com/landingpage/

It contains a video on how to set up a split test with Logaholic. The page is currently being split tested and the ads are active. I’ll publish a follow up video with the results in a few weeks time. If you have suggestions for things to test on that page, I’d really love to hear them. Just leave a comment below!

Have fun!

Michael
