Setting Advanced Options

The Advanced tab of Profile Configuration includes several additional settings to further customize your web analysis reporting. These include: Animate Graphs, Reporting Time Zone, Time Zone Correction, Time format display, Visit Timeout, Unique Visitor / ID Method, Exit Click Tracking and Inpage Analytics.

1. Animate Flash Graphs:

By default, Logaholic displays animated graphic effects in the flash bar and pie charts. when you prefer to disable the animation, you can turn this setting “Off.”

2. Reporting Time zone

The Default Local Time Zone shown in reports is the system time of the server on which Logaholic is installed, which may not necessarily be the same Time Zone where your website is hosted. If you prefer that your reports use a different Time Zone, such as the one on your hosing server, you may select it here.

If you use the Logaholic Live service, the local system time is Europe/Amsterdam, gmt+1, c.e.t.

3. Time zone Correction

If your source data (collected from either your server log or the Javascript tracker) is recorded in a different Time Zone than the one you selected in “Reporting Time zone” above, your statistics may seem “off” by a few hours. If you wish to correct this, enter the number of hours difference between your selected Time Zone and the Time Zone used where your logs are collected (example: -5 hours difference, enter -5).

4. Time Format Display:

Choose the format of how dates are displayed in the reports.
In the preview below the selectors you see the format that is set. Return to default format, select the link “Restore to default format”.

6. Visit Timeout:

Enter the number of inactive minutes before a visitor “session” or “visit” to one of your webpages should be considered as timed out. For example, enter 20 and after 20 minutes of inactivity, Logaholic will consider the “session” or “visit” to the page in question termminated.

7. Unique Visitor / ID Method

This setting determines how Logaholic identifies a unique visitor. More information on these identification methods can be found in this reference article.

There is a great deal of debate about the ideal method of tracking Unique Visitors, and many articles have been published discussing the advantages and disadvantages of different methods. It is beyond the scope of this manual to determine which method is best for your situation. Some more information on this subject can be found in this blogpost article.

8. Exit Click Tracking

The Exit Clicks Expansion enables Logaholic to track exit clicks (links from your website to other, external domains).

This script only works when using the Log File Data Collection method. It does not work when using the Javascript Based tracking method.

9. Inpage Analytics

Inpage Analytics shows statiscal data of your webpage, displayed/printed on the actual web page that contains Inpage Analytics tracker code.
Activating this on your page wil give you quick insights on the visitors behaviour of that page.
video shows how this feature works.

Installation instructions; Exit Click Tracking, Inpage Analytics:

A. Copy the javascript code from the screen. Find the code under the “Advanced” Tab of the “Edit Profile” screen. When you are logged into your Logaholic, Hover with your mouse over the name of your profile, top navigation bar, left side, a menu opens, click “Edit profile”.

B. Place this code snippet anywhere on every page for which you wish to track Exit clicks and/or Inpage Analytics. If you have a header or footer file that is included in each page on your site, you only need to put the tracker code in one of those. For the best results always place the code as high up in the page as possible.
